ford 9" diff would be over-kill given that it's an 4A engine (even with turbo)?
I have a purpose built 4a-gte engine and i know the 4a's have been installed into shovelnose corona's in the past, but i cant find anything at all on the actual installation?
I am aware that custom engine mounts will need to be made to suit the RT40 chassis, and a custom gearbox crossmember (i'm using a powerglide or a trimatic with adapter plate). I am using either a Ford 9inch or a Hilux diff for the rear end aswell. Probably using a 4-link setup if i go 9 inch. But thats another matter anyway.
My question is, have any of you done anything like this before? and if so, can you supply any information of interest?
I am able to manufacture all the parts i need at work, but instead of shooting in the dark alot (which can be fun sometimes) i thought i would ask you guys first!
Here is the new beast (untouched as of yet) that i picked up for next to nothing off of a mate !

possibly, but it is better to go overkill rather than underkill, especially since i have procured a 9 inch in the last few hours for nothing! Also leaves it open for me to change over to a rotary engine, if i decide i want to that is.
Anyone got any info as per my INITIAL request?

woops sorry for double post!
sorry i gotta agree that the 9" is far too heavy and saps too much power. powerglide is in the same boat. wouldnt' use a traumatic either but thats just my experience with them.
hilux is the way to go in the sense that it will handle a rotor later if thats what you want, with the benefits of having the range of gearing and spools available for 4x4'ing.
as for answering your questions, nope sorry no experience whatsoever with corona's. good luck though will be fun.
