Good work skiddo, i'll watch you do all the hard work, and if it works out then i'll copy ya!![]()
Nah should be good, been thinking of doing a disc conversion on mine but its not real high on my list of priorities right nowlike everything i guess....
well hellloooo all
some of you may be aware (however more wont be) that im starting an upgrade of the 22's rear brakes im going to be using a VH-VS commonwhore caliper (VR in my case) as they are readily available and cheaper than the hooker at your street corner, in between the caliper i will be using a C210 skyline disk, a DBA 601rotor has a 10mm smaller diameter but a larger surface in which the pad can make contact than the commo disk, they are also 4x114.3 PCD so that makes my life very easy, so all i need to do really is figure out mounting of the caliper and welding of the bracketry to the diff housing
all up there is only about 80 bucks invested here to if it does belly up meh put it down to experience if it does work then a farken cheap brake upgrade
watch this space for pics and other random bits of information

Toyota Car Club (Qld)
my primary reason for attempting this is the lack of st141 rear ends up here in QLD
but yeah copy me by all means i may need to hijack your workshops skillzorz
no RT142 rear disk brakes either?
one way to do it thats super cheap and not so pretty but works, is to weld a flat peice of steel on the axle tube and mount the caliper to that. i have that setup sitting in my garage with s14 rears on an e series.
dude im waiting on some pictures when you get around to doing it, hopefully will copy ya if seh works out pretty sweet![]()

You can also get a bit of metal machined up for pretty cheap and have that mount to the top two holes for the plate that holds the driveshafts in.Originally Posted by EVOSTi
Either way, you wont be doing this until after youve got the caliper and disc sorted out.

i have my disks the calipers are in the mail, and the brackety things will be to mount to the back of the flange that holds the drive shaft in, im using the back as the peice of metal on the back of the drums isnt that thick and if the bracket was made that thin certainly wouldnt last long, if at all
not knowing what the caliper looks like - so how does the handbrake operate? internal drum or acts on the back of the caliper?
Hydraulic handbrake upgrade?
