Default My RA28 seat belts are buggered!!

What does everyone do when they have to replace their seat belts on a ra28? Ive had a quote from some joint in perth to replace the belt for around $100ea but id rather not pay $200 for seat belts if i dont have too. Are ra23 seat belts the same? Or is there another model vehicle that fit just nice?

RA23 belt will fit but they are the same age so you might be just wasting your time there. Have you been through the Klippan cattle-dog at Repco and seen what they may have that is compatible?

using second hand seat belts in a car is illegal, and most workshops SHOULD knock you back on a RWC if the know your replaced crappy belts with better second hand ones,
200 dollars for the major saftey device in your car sounds more than appropriate.

Go to bursons look through the catalougs for somthing with a similar design, and put it in, the basic belt design isnt complicated so there will be another belt to suit.

theres no reason why a workshop will knock back a 2nd hand seatbelt...aslong as the seatbelt isnt frayed, the seat belt retraction and catch work, and the LOCK work,....

but still you are better off buying a new belt,....

It's illegal... that is why a workshop would knock it back if they know. in fact they should know the seatbet back id the ADR tag isn't attached.

Personally if I find a good set in good condition I would use them if they were better than the current ones in the car as a short term solution.

As far as seat belts go its your life ,your mates or your loved ones lives. Why compromise? surely a life is worth a few hundred dollars.
