Anyone?? need to know by tomorrow arvo
Howdy guys, i need some help on the MAP sensor on the JZA70 1JZ...
I am at the stage of wiring my Z20 with 1JZ. This is bascially the only thing that i got left to wire up. I got no clue where the other MAP sensor (with yellow sticker on it) wires goes to. For the people who have done this, did use connected them to the other MAP sensor or did you connect them to some where else? if they need to be connected to some where else can you give me directions to where.= FIXED! thanks guys for the help.
now does anyone know what colours are the fuel pump wires on the Z20??
Any help will be great.
Much appreciated.
Thanks alot, Heng

hengsta i dont actually know
but apparently that map sensor is only used for the dash boost gauge (factory on most a70s i think) but since the z20s dont have a boost gauge u may not need it wired. the important map sensor is the one on the firewall which instructs the ecu

yes, the second MAP sensor is just for the boost gauge on the dash
yep there is a second map sensor that is only for the boost gauge that you don't need. The one that mounds to the firewall you DO need, the plu for that comes out of the engine loom close to where the loom goes through the firewall.
map sensor from firewall = your actual map
map sensor from suspension = for A70 boost guage (not required)
i've had mine disconnected for a few months without issue.
don't stress move on to next issue![]()
now does anyone know what colours are the fuel pump wires?? = fuel pump not working thats why car not starting
any help be great
Thanks, Heng

have you tried bridging FP and +B in the diag box? (i think those are the ones?)
If you earth FP pin 16 on plug X the pump will run permanently when car is switched to ON.
This is how I am temporarily running mine until I get my car running properly, I couldnt figure out the fuel pump relay stuff so am going to worry about it later.
im pretty sure i tryed that but i will try it agian tomorow morning.
one thing does anyone know what colours are the wires for the fuel pump behind the GZ20 glove box are?
Thanks alot, Heng

Yellow with blue trace in the dash wiring loom to (from memory) solid yellow in the enging loom.Originally Posted by Hengsta
Basically the yellow wires out of the big square grey plug connect up to turn the fuel pump on when the key is on.
Moo
Apparently I was advertising in my signature, where I just thought I was helping out others... so if you want to know how to get more steering lock in your A70/Z20 Supra/Soarer, you'll just have to search, don't ask me, apparently I'm not allowed to tell you.
not exactly.
while this will work, its not the "proper" way.
you need to wire up the circuit opening relay, this way the fuel pump only runs when the motor is running.
powering the fuel pump straight off 12V is good while your still figuring the wiring out, as it sorts the fuel side out, and you dont need to think about it anymore (you cant hear or tell if the pump is working while the cars cranking, too loud)
but yeah, not wiring up through the CoR is dodge!
also, bridging the terminal on the "diagnosis" box only works if its connected as it should be, so no help there![]()
