Smallport 4age into AE82

I have looked on this and other sites and cant find the answers I need.

I have a very neat AE82 SX Hatch with a blown moto (head off scored bore, It dropped a spark plug electrode. may have been caused by a leaking head gasket) and have just purchased a totaled AE93 SX seca (front end isn't seriously damaged) with a view to using it as a heart donor.

I have a few questions.... Has anyone performed this conversion with a standard computer?

Which computer would you use ? AE 82 Map or AE92 AFM? and would you use the Map or AFM?

Is the engine wiring loom seperate to the rest of the loom like a VN Commodore or is it intergrated into the main loom?

If this isnt a relatively easy conversion I will put the large port head onto the small port block but I would rather leave the smallport complete as it has less than 160 ks on it.

I would appreciate any thoughts you may have on this conversion.

It doesnt matter if you use the bigport or smallport computer but you won't gain anything out of it (according to Bill Sherwood). If you have the bigport in the ae82 then the conversion is piss easy, just a straight bolt in job. have a search because it's been done heaps of times.

When you do carby-->efi that's when it can get tricky

so I am guessing you would use the MAP sensor and 86 Kw computer? what about the injectors, I understand the small port ones flow more. do they plug in the same way? are the Dissys and crank angle sensors the same?

Use all the hardware from the smallport engine. Your not going to gain anything by buggerising around with it.

not really wanting more out of it, just looking for the easiest conversion.
