Sounds like the same scenario regarding the wife's knickers after marriage from what i've heard too! Birthday's & anniversaries hey (not referring to your missus specifically J, just a general comment )

    Hey Norbie,

What injectors are you running? I was thinking of getting 650cc SARDS for that turbo on mine. I didnt think SARD made 700's?

    They're 720cc top-feeds, can't remember what brand but Blitz rings a bell?

So when does it see boost? I heard speculation of around 3500rpm..?

Do you know if you can run an MSD with the two step on the stock 1jz coils (or the upgrade ones that fit in stock location, that i also dont know the name of but have heard things about lol) ?

I'll be using the same turbo on my 1j pretty soon hopefully, but will prolly fork out for bigger injectors as my plan later down the track is to run e85...

    Cheers,

    Jase,
HKS sell an ignition amplifier which others seem to be using with alot of success. I haven't found any replacements other than stock that fit. We don't have the luxury of RB with there shitty coils.

Positive manifold pressure starts around 3000rpm, but yeah about 3500 before there's a useful amount of boost.

Yep the 2-step works with stock coils, and should work with any coils I would think?

I assume this HKS amplifier and the MSD Controller both act as amplifiers to improve spark, but only the MSD will give you two step?

Yep, both are CDI amplifiers but the MSD DIS-4 I'm using adds a bunch of programmable features including a 2-step rev limiter.

So if i run one of these with the stock coils and some iridium plugs gapped nice and small, will it provide enough spark to run say 24psi?

i would switch to coppers. I'm running NGK bcpr7es straight out of the box. I've managed to run 25psi with the stock coils and no amplifier.

There are 1000hp 2JZ's running stock coils with CDI, so basically that setup will handle anything you can throw at it.

Platinum/iridium plugs don't last long with CDI, copper is the way to go.
