    Default 1g gte power upgrades

hey i have a gz10 with a 1ggte and it has the stock front mount and its running 10psi and it makes 132.1rwkw .... i am doing a single turbo convertion, i have been told to use a vg30 turbo, i am also gonna get a 600x300x100 cooler with all the plumming custom made, a 3inch turbo back exhaust ustnig 1 muffler, ill prolly run it at around say 12 or 13psi... and 7mgte injectors...

now this is where you guys come in, id like to know what else i can do to get more power with out spending milions or stripping the motor down....

i noticed people use XF throttle bodys on 1g's... what will this acheve???

what other upgrades can i do...

    thanks

The XF throttle body is to remove another possible restriction in the inlet. I have one for sale if you want it, PM me if you do.

you need either piggy back or a stand alone ECU to run with the 7MGTE's injectors.

not true,...7m injectors will work wit the GEN3 ecu, as they share the same impedance..... wont work with gen1 or 2

vg3o turbo.....probably wont be the best upgrade, youd probably be better with a cheap ebay turbo,

    isn't that 7MGTE injectors are 440cc/min and 1GGTE injectors are 315cc/min?

    Impedance is not the issue.

Its the fact that 7MGTE ones are 30% larger than 1G ones, and will need a good piggyback or aftermarket to run properly.

hey, im also interested in how to get more power from a 1ggte..

Nathan- will the throttle body bolt on or is it a lot of farking about?

i have a single ct-26, highflowed with garrett internals, 600*300*75 cooler, 3" zorst from turbo back, no cat, 1 muffler..... not sure but im guessing its making around 230-240rwhp on around 16psi... i run it on 20 every once in a while, but that will soon kill the motor i reckon... got adjustable cam gears and safc2 on the way, once thats here ill have it tuned..

yeah i was gonna get 7m injectors but i heard that they are way too massive to put straight in... need a good management system...

NA cams are an upgrade too apparently, i was gonna get some but that involves re shimming n shit, too much effort, also it would throw your tune out unless you had some form of management...

Nathan- that adjustment screw for the AFR, can you please put up a photo of where it is.. do you mean the one inside the black AFM box? if so which way do you turn it to give more fuel?

    cheers

bolts to the manifold........ need to bore out the manifold hole so its the same size of the XF bore,

cooler plumbing will need to be modified to be a slip on type joint, not a bolt on like the factory,

TPS will need to be corrected to run also

NA cams do not need reshimming fo the buckets.... they are a direct replacement, and only increase lift by .2 (i think)

and incresed duration...not sure on specs,

i have them in my motor, but yet to start it,......it alters your tune, doesnt throw it out,
you need the adjustable cam gears to get the most of it, and you DONT need an ECU to controll it,

you guys need to search more. there have been MANY threads on 1g POWER UPGRADES,

GO read them, its where i have gotten all my knowledge from

Umm, any time you change a cam in a bucket/shim motor, you need to check every single shim to make sure the tolerance/gap is acceptable.

It will bolt on, but as explained, the manifold needs to be reamed out to match.

It's under the cover yep. It's not a screw persay, it's a spring. The screw is just to lock it in position. Basically, you want to tighten the spring (you can feel that) and then lock it in position.

Bzzt, 7MGTE injectors are low impedance, same as Gen1/2. Gen3 are high (i.e. no resistor pack)

yeah thats what i was told... or it will fuck ya cams at the least and make the motor rattle like all fuck.. im fairly sure 1g and 3s motors have same buckets n shims... thats what i was gonna do, i got my ones, plus ones from an NA 1g and plenty of 3s ones so im sure i could mix and match to get the clearances right but its just too much fucking about...

Nathan- Cheers.. so tightening the spring gives more fuel and loosening gives less?? just wanna be sure before i start fucking about with shit..
