    Default help

Hey guys, yes some ppl think its gay but i just put a pod on my AE82 corolla (4age) for some extra noise.
Just wondering, there are 2 hose's that come off the stock box that suck in air, i think they go to 02 censors then one goes to the TVIS. What do i do with them??? just leaving them hangin dosnt seem right.

I'm not real familiar with 4age's but neither of them will go to an o2 sensor, and you can't just leave them hanging there because they will cause a vacuum leak and your car won't run right.

If you have a camera handy to take a pick i may be able to work out where they go. Blocking off random hoses may not be a good idea unless you know what they are for.

One is for temp sensor which is in the airbox at the back and the other one feeds the map sensor which is at the front. Both are needed and you will lose power so piss that pod filter off and buy a k&n panel filter.

If you insist on keeping the pod then spend the money and get a proper intake pipe made up that can accomodate both of those sensors. If you go this way though youll end up spending more than the panel filter would cost. ps the panel filter will also give you some extra noise since that seems to be all your after.

If you dont hook them up you will have a vacuum leak as mentoined above and your idle will be higher than normal. If you block them off your car will stall when you pull up to lights and the rpm drops.

Yep panel filter is a direct replacement filter for the stock 1, (fits in the same box).
Some brands are (Don't know if they all do 1 for your car) K&N, Finer Filter, Uni Filter, thats just a start. Search around the web you should find something suitable.

Next time you need help, I suggest you put "Help - fitting pod filter" or something so people know what your thread is about.

As others have said, get a panel filter in there. Less problems with Police. And don't make your car louder! I live on a major road and I'm so sick of people with wank exhaust keeping me up all night 'cuz they want to show off!

LeeRoy: How do you mean it feeds the MAP sensor? MAP sensor comes off the plenum doesn't it? I don't imagine a MAP sensor would work very well if it was before the throttle body.
