    Default 4agze ta22 conversion and engineer's cert

just wondering what you guys on here wouldpay for a complete 4agze conversion into a ta22 including all running gear, im not seeling anything i just want to know how much you guys think its worth, also does anyone know where i can find info on what they check when you take your car in for an engineers certificate, and one more thing, if u have modified your vehicle what do u need to do to get your car on the road again as in do u need another roadworthy, do u need to re-register it, and all other things im pretty much asking whats involved in an engine conversion other then the mechanical side of things, any help would be awesome thanks heaps.

Not to sure on a price but as a rough guess id say i could probably look at about 10 grand depending on how crazy you go i mean you have to work it out price of half cut then getting the engine in the car. Then wiring, fuel system upgrade, tailshaft? unsure it may have to be shortened or lenghtened im not sure. Then you would have to upgrade your brakes at the same time as the engineer will most likely ask you to do that aswell and possibly upgrade your diff at the same time may as well do it once do it right. Then depending on how much work your doing aswell as you will have to pay labour costs aswell which aint cheap but then you dont know what the quality of there work can be like anyway. As for engineers once you have recieved your engineers certificate as far as i know go to vic roads for engine number change and show them engineers certificate aswell.

    4AGZE KIT or 1/2 cut $2200.00 - $3000.00
    G/box and RWD bits (brackets,mounts,starter,etc) $600-900.00
Fitting (mount, plumb, hook up,etc) $1500-2200.00
    Wire (ECU,Thermo fans,a/c,guages, everything) $600-$1000.00
    T/shaft mod (inc new uni's) $220.00
Exhaust (custome extractors to chrome tip) $500-900.00
Brakes (depends on how much you want) $400-2000.00
Eng rep (now called VASS by vicroads) $750.00 (but depends on his mood )
I Think that is most of it but have atleast $1000.00 for misc bit's

So its about $6500-$11,000.00 to have some one do it all to drive away no more to pay.
But if you can do a lot your self and with the vast amount of info on here (and the amount of info you can get with the parts if you buy it from the right place's)You should be able to do it for less than$5,500.00

I Base these prices on what I would have charged you when I ran Toyospares last year.

    Regards.
    MATT.

P.S. Have a go yourself you will learn heaps!!!

The software required Win95 or better, so I installed Linux.
