Default 4ac electric distributor from AE82

Hey, i've got very limited time to diagnose the next problem after my fuel dilemma.( 4ac AE86) pretty sure it's electrical, wouldn't sputter when i poured fuel down it's throat.

instead of screwing around with points can i just grab an electric distributor and replace mine? or not as quick and easy as it sounds?

Time is definately a factor here

    Cheers.

Go to an import wreckers and get a 3or4A full electronic dizzy (the one with the coil built in) not the Bosch one like most of the aus AE82's had.

Just put it in timed and run ign power to the wire with the red trace.
The other (all black) wire is tacho.

i thought i'd bring my own dead thread back to life rather than creating a new one for the same thing.

i put in an electric dizzy but was wondering how it wires in? I didn't think that three wires could be that difficult but hmm.

originally the electric dizzy had it's two wires in a plug that hooked into a loom in the AE82.
i cut off the plug cause i don't have anything like that. now i gotta know what the green and pink wire are for. i thought green was the tacho and pink wuould go into this yellow power wire that comes from the coil/ battery (i dunno it's been hacked up and redone before i got to it) but that doesn't seem to be the case.

if anyone knows that'd be a huge help.
