Easy in a normal road car - not so easy in a 1JZ Panno that wants to destroy the rear tires when you just think about the throttle pedal.Originally Posted by MR22ZZ

Like Phil I wouldnt feel happy on the weekend having to worry about whether the car is safe while out of sight.

I'm sure Matty L would be more than happy to come up to the track for the day and drive your panno home

I have no doubt that he would be able to steer it home leaving black train-tracks from Goulburn to Canberra
AE71 Corolla 2 door window van - retired / JZA70 Supra - VVTi converted - sold
I am hoping to be there and shake some of the cobwebs out of my Civic (as long as you guys don't mind, that is)

Sign me up for the 31st! It'll be good to actually get to a Toymod event.
Cheers

Toymods forums provide us with an avenue to organise such things - thanks Toymods.

I'm preparing the car this week and going up to Wakefield Park next Monday just to make sure everything is ship-shape (or should that be car-shape}? I'm also taking a mate and his son who is keen to have a run.
If I'm going to show some of you quicker guys up then I'd better make sure the Civic is running at optimum performance.
Now, how much did they say those new A048s were?
See you all there.

Peter

I'm not sure this is the right place but since we're talking track here's a little history of my motorsport career (in 100 words or less)!
I started in 1995 with a Datto 1600 running Under 2 Litre Sports Sedans. It had a twin Weber setup L20 4 cylinder.
In 2000 I bought this Mazda R100 which had a fantastic history, being built in Tasmania and run by Phil Munday. It ran against John Bowe and other notables in the National Championship back in the mid 80's.
I repainted it and then rebuilt the 13BB PP engine but it sat in the garage for almost 2 years and I ended up selling it in 2003.
Then I got interested in Improved Production and in 2005 I bought this Honda Civic EG6 in Japan. Here it is sitting in a salvage yard in Japan:
It landed here in November 2005 via container. I imported it under my CAMS licence for motorsport use only so it was a bargain given all the bits it already had on it.
This is a photo of its third run at Oran Park. I have three bonnets all of which I used in 2006 - one black, one white and one white with stripes.
This is the rollcage installed by a friend of mine in Sports Sedans. The car was still being prepared at this stage:
And a static shot at Oran Park:
This one at Western Brake & Steering for a wheel and camber setup:
Hope you enjoyed this little history.
Cheers,
Peter
