RA23 fit, and TA22 seats fit (TA22 rails dont fit). Otherwise, you need to look at making custom rails to fit anything else. Where in QLD are you??
Hey guys
I have an RA28, its driveable but has a whole lot of work to be done to it before its near where i want it.
I was just wondering, are there any other seats that bolt right in to an RA28? the chairs in it at the moment are... well, a little dodgey to say the least.
cheers

Im in brisbane. used to live in mackay thoughnorth queensland ftw.
im pretty unhappy really, i mean, i got the car for less than its worth, but the guy got a road worthy on it, and not a hope it should have passed.
nearly completely bald tires. The seats both needed to be welded when we got them to stop them from reclining by themselves, so much play in the steering its just rediculous, no horn. the list just goes on.
but yea... ive been to a few wreckers and its just impossible to find parts for these things![]()
You travel back up to Mackay much?? Stop by if you do... have a perv on my 23 and 28.
As for your parts dilemnas, many bits from RA23s and RA40s also fit. Steering box will have to come from RA23, but horns from just about anything will fit. PM me your list and I will see what you can get from other vehicles.

well, sometime soon i am gunna be putting up a list in the parts wanted section so i'll let you know when i do. might even do that later on this afternoon.
I havent been back passed bunderburg in about 4 years. i was going to road trip it back to mackay to see old friends, but i wanted to do that when my car was finished, so it kind of defeats the purpose![]()
A good seat if u dont mind a bit of modifying is the sw20 seats. They look great, and do not look out of place especially if you have a nice black interior.
how much modifying? *raises eyebrow*Originally Posted by Hash_ra23
mitch, if you think the mechanic did a dodgy roadworthy then u can complain about it can't you? i dunno what you have in queensland, but i've heard of people complaining to vicroads here bout roadworthies and how it shouldn't have been passed. worth a shot i reckon

might look into it.
i dont want a refund on my car, but it'd sure be nice for the mechanice to have to pay for all the things to get fixed on it![]()
and yea... how much modifying are we talking about there?
cause i also need to redo most of my interior, hopefully black...
i payed for door cards months ago from a guy here on toymods and i havent seen them. he seems to have stopped replying to emails toogreat.
man, you ain't having luck with this car hey
pm a mod, joshstix or kirty2520, and tell them a toymodder has ripped you off and give them as much info as possible. they should help out or at least try their best to get in contact with the dude..
and i dont think (the queensland equivilent of) vicroads will refund you, but more look into the mechanic and question his methods and possibly he can give you a better roady
have you got a member's ride thread yet? u should be taking photos and have like a before and after restoration process..
if you're looking for parts, you can try our classifieds section, otherwise ebay usually has some gems from time to time. try making a list of stuff in the 'parts wanted' section as well..
cheers mate

I think you would be shooting yourself in the foot by complaining about the dodgy mechanic. The fact its on the road is a great help... it enables you to road test legally (ish). I would say get everything you know to be wrong fixed, and if your not hugely mechanically minded, get a friend who is, or a mechanic you may know to give it the once over... just to be sure.
QLD transport is pretty crap, and if you didnt buy through a car yard, then chances are the only thing that will happen is the mechanic will have his RWC license suspended, and you will be forced to take your car in for another one at your expense... really would become a PITA.

Yea... so true... i think i might just go visit him and say please explain. i guess i can't really do anything about it.
it'll all be pretty much illegal once i get my hot new engine in the bay but
oh, and i got that thread up for parts i need if you wanna check that out
cheers
not as illegal as it seems, if ur talking about the RG.
I've still yet to see any evidence that an RG conversion needs engineering in QLD. Some ppl get them to be safe, others believe it is still an 18R (and was available in the same car, with the same brakes etc etc) and so shouldn't need one.
As long as you update the engine number with QT, you should be OK.
Well, i hope not, cause i sure as hell arent gunna pay an extra couple hundred bucks for some guy to nod his head and sign a bit of paper for me.
Its still an 18R, i dont think they'll know the difference![]()
let me know bout the seats u put in mate.. i got a friend doing up an ra28 and he hates his stock seats![]()
