they're different?
i myself had to replace the rear pads recently, i THINK i used ma61 pads.....dammit i can't remember!!![]()
Since I recently changed my front brakes Id thought id get some new rotors for the REAR since there getting a bit undersized.
Took them down to the local brake shop and said I needed some disks for a MZ11 82 Soarer which are 262mm in diameter.
He suggested the MA61 disks of 270mm dia. So I took them home and gave them a try to no avail. The disks were too big and fowling on the inside of the calipers. i also tryed it on the spare soarer with the same result... also tryed grinding the inside of the brakes out but I soon realized after some quick sum’s I would have to grind it at leased 4mm which would grind into the holes where the brake bolts run thru.
Took them back and the guy said that I could try the MX62 disks but they are 258mm dia. Which is not that much smaller but I notice that on my disks theres a 2mm ridge all the way around where the pads don’t touch the disks meaning if I ran the 258’s the pad would be at the edge.
What should I do? Just get the 258’s or try some aus spec ma61 calipers and disks?

Destroyer of 'Drop Forged' spanners
they should be very similar... i thought they would of been the same too, but maybe the aus spec ones had just a little more clearance for some reasion? to match alot of the other makes i guess?
what pads are you running?
umm....bendix.....i think.

I'm pretty sure some JDM stuff has solid rears, I seem to recall JCMO's GA61 had them?

That it did, but it also had the povo-spec T-series diff.
The F-series stuff I've had has been vented.

i was given RDA717 disks so... i would asume that they were ment for a MX73 altho the guy said they were for a MA61. and also in the general parts for MA61 its got DBA717 disks for the rear.
both my soarers dont have solid rears... they might have been changed in austraila... but it doesnt explain why i have 262mm dia by 4 off if you cant get them here.
