No! You can't come. Only people who drive Toyota's that don't have the Lexus brand associated with them are allowed to come!

Err, and by that I mean I don't see why you wouldn't be allowed to come... ? Hell I go to these meets and I don't even drive a Toyota.

The Soarer is still associated with the Lexus brand. But that was just a stupid joke anyway. Like I said I've only ever owned one Toyota, and never turned up to a meet in it (As I never got it running).

It'd call it a Toyota even when the ladies ask.

Why do they even have Lexus badges? As I understand it, they were never sold here... And they only just released the Lexus badge in Japan recently didn't they? So where are we importing all these Right Hand Drive Lexus Soarers from?!?!?!

Is that a serious question? Ask in the Z30 thread if you really want to know. [/ot]

I won't cruise, but I might come past for the meet up point.

    Not even in a car

The Z30 soarer was sold in the US as the Lexus SC300 (2JZGE) / SC400 (1UZFE). I dont believe they got the TT.

Back in the '90s when they started importing Soarers to Australia the dealers got wise and were like 'maybe if we stick lexus badges on them people will pay more for them'. And they did, hence why almost every Z30 soarer has Lexus badges (even though the JDM versions are better spec'd than the US version they tried to pass them off as). The car was never sold in Australia, all Z30's are japanese imports.

The LS400 is basically a lower spec Celsior and was sold locally.

    [/history lesson]

btw: count me in for the cruise.

That's what I thought... that's so stupid. *shakes head*. I don't think i've ever seen a Soarer with a Toyota Badge in real life

You should rip your Lexus badges off, and put toyota badges on. Long live Toyota! Down with elitest branding crap!

    Oh, and *counts you in*.

Wel Z30s anyway. I'm seen a few old school Soarers with the Griffin badge.
