Default *** September Social Event: 23rd September - Huntley Hill Climb ***

The Wollongong Sporting Car Club is one the oldest CAMS affiliated clubs in Australia and they hold numerous motorsport events throughout the year. With alot of Toymods Financial members asking for motorsport oppourtunities, this event poses the perfect opportunity to utilise membership in another car club for a CAMS sanctioned event.

    When: Sunday 23rd September, 8.30am
Where: Huntley Hillclimb: Avondale Rd, Dapto.
What: Time trial up a hill.
    Cost: Pre-entry fee $70 + CAMS L2S License $88 + WSCC Membership $40 = $198 (This excludes equipment costs, eg. Fire Extinguisher)

ENTRIES ARE LIMITED TO 50 CARS!!!!

Here is some further detail from Fletcher of the WSCC:

The event costs $70 for pre-entries and $90 on the day (entries will not be accepted after 9am). Scrutineering starts around 8:30am and racing starts at 10am. Entries are limited to 50 - we can't exceed this due to CAMS and it's first in first served basis. Thus the club can't guarantee that we can accomodate everyone if people turn up on the day to race.

Here's a quick rundown of what each competitor/car requires:

    Paperwork requirements:
    - Membership of a CAMS Affiliated Club. unfortunately this is a non-negotiable thing for insurance reasons. If you wanted to join our club on the day that would be fine, our club membership is $40/year.
    - CAMS L2S License, $88/12 months. If anyone doesn't have one of these, don't apply to cams - get one through the club on the day. Much easier and you don't have the hassle of wating the 3 weeks or more for cams to send your license back. Again, you can't run without this license.

Car Requirements:- Has to be Roadworthy ie no bald tyres, etc.
    - Requires a 1Kg or greater Fire Extinguisher, mounted internally within reach of the driver.
    - Blue Battery Triangle indicating the location of the battery (150mm equilateral triangle, can use blue electrical tape at a pinch)
    - you need race numbers, I normally just use electrical tape.

    Personal Protective requirements
    - Helmet that meets AS1698 or better.
    - Non flammable (Cotton or wool) clothing from neck to knee to ankle.
    - Non flammable shoes ie leather, race shoes. No synthetics.

If a driver has never raced before and is not a member of an affiliated club, this is most efficient way you could race this Sunday is following the steps below:
    1. Print Out and fill in the WSCC Membership form. http://www.wscc.org.au/membershipform.pdf
    2. Print Out and fill in CAMS L2S Licence Application Form.http://www.cams.com.au/downloads/pap...pplication.pdf
    3. Print out and fill in the Entry Form http://www.wscc.org.au/supregs.html and send to the address listed with a cheque/money order for $70.
4.Bring the membership application and L2S Licence forms and $40+$86 to the race meeting.
This event is open to any car, from stock as a rock to full blown race car, each competing in their own categories. So don't feel shy to bring down your car.

Entries are limited, so we need to get a show of hands and pre-entries completed in order to ensure a position on the day. If you don't have a CAMS license, complete the paperwork on the day with the WSCC for one, or you will have to wait for CAMS to process yours and post it out.

This is going to be a really fun day and a chance to educate some dyno queens on cornering.

for those that arent cams affiliated, and need licence's and memberships, you will want to get there early as possible, ie 7am!....as you will need to fill out forms, and when it comes to signing up, therse usually a big que, so get in early and get sorted,

otherwise newbies tend to hold the day up....

MASSIVE FUN THO GUYS!!!....get into it! will be there competeing or spectating!

definately keen, however the weekend just prior to Toyofest might prove just a bit too much

will have to see a bit later

but it is awesome fun, and not too bad to go up and just watch either, so if you are halfway thinking about it i would do it!

If anyone has any questions regarding the hillclimb, CAMS, WSCC, scrutineering, etc. don't be afraid to get in touch with me. Our July event was a sellout - we had to turn people away on the day. When the Supplementary Regs are released, I'll post them up here, and anyone who is keen to go should get their entries in as soon as possible.

Entry Forms and Supplementary regs have been posted for the event.

    http://www.wscc.org.au/supregs.html

Note that this event is a pointscore for the Nissan club and the Porsche club normally come down as well. Last Months event was oversubscribed - we had to send people away on the day. I urge anyone who wishes to attend, get your entries in as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
