The auto may not be slipping very much but it could be a bit more positive into second .
I guess Toyota may do it this way to stop axel and diff breaking change into 2nd.

Toyota LOVE the overlap with gearchanges, unfortunately it doesn't do much for longevity at high power levels, it does however mean they design the box's stronger to cope with this and when 'tweaked' they can cope with a lot more then they should be able tp

Well I'm beginning to wonder now... The box pretty much shat itself on the way to work this morning. I'd been noticing I've been hitting rev limit on the 1st-2nd change when in 'drive' of late, then today, I noticed it went a bit limp into second, sitting in traffic I didn't think too much of it, couldn't go fast enoguh to 'test/diagnose' down the bottom of a hill and it stuttered and missed, so I pulled over.

After refuelling... (don't park on steep hills with low fuel levels) the gearbox seemed sort of okay, but a bit slow to change itno second...

By the time I got to work, the gearbox is now slipping in all gears. I have my doubts it will get home this afternoon... But a day of cooling might make it 'last'.

This is driving me nuts am I getting unlucky or is it something else...

Well fitted yet another gearbox to the car on saturday...

For some reason this box feels much nicer then the other ones I've had previously. It shifts quickly and firmly into second, not showing signs of the delayed into second shift which makes me believe the other two boxs I've had previously were on thier way out to begin with..

Anyways nursing this box until I fit the shift kit this coming weekend
