    Default Drive shaft length

    Hello folks,

Can one of our experts please give me some guidance re drive shaft length.

T50 to KE 35 drive shaft. After fitting a new motor the drive shaft appears a little too short.

How should the cup on the output of the t50 align with the cup on the drive shaft female spline. At present the rear lip of the gearbox cup aligns with the front lip of the drive shaft cup.

I get the feeling (from the original marks on the drive shaft where the gerabox seal mated) that the drive shaft cup should sit neatly inside the gerabox cup to they align at the rear.

Can i turn up a 10mm spigotted spacer to fit at the diff end to move it forward slightly?

    Cheers peter

Where the wheels in the air when you checked this?
As when you put the car down and the diff comes up the drive shaft will move forward into the box about 10-15mm.

    Thanks Matt,

No they were not lifted off the ground and I have been told that when you fully extend the rear wheel travel as you suggest there should not be a gap betweent the cups so that you can see the output drive spline?

    cheers peter
