kv87 from thundercords.
never had any probs, one guy i know had a prob 2 years after orig purchase and they came out and replaced the full set.

I'm looking for a good quality set of leads to use on my 1JZ now that I have external bosch coils. They need to have good suppression to avoid interference with the ECU, and obviously take the punishment of providing a fat spark with 20psi of boost. I will have them made to length, as nothing from factory will match.
Any recommendations? Thundercords and Top Gun Pro 10mm leads seem to be mentioned often.
Cheers
Phil

its the only thing i use as its great quality.
if memory serves me correctly most supercar teams use it aswell as alot of drag cars, one being a 13b running 45psi+.

I'm guessing the main difference between the 8.5 & 10mm leads is the amount of silicone shielding? ie: the R100 10mm leads would only be needed for super high heat environments (like next to V8 extractors on a race engine) or for extra noise suppression?
Just to get an idea, what's the rough cost per lead Roadrunner?

its not the cable thats expensive its the plugs to suit.
a set for a sr20 with ends to suit LS1 using kv85 cost me $200 from memory but a set for a starlet using the same coils and roughly the same length were $260 from the same company.
they came to the shop to do it so maybe cheaper if you order over the fone the lengths and plug types you need.

Has anybody here dealt with ice ignition? I got a custom set of leads made for a 1g, no complaints about the leads yet but they ended up costing me $330.00 for the set, which was probally a bit expensive for what they were (8mm).
GA23(never finished-now with cracked block) JZX83 (Tyre eater) 3sgte AE86. by now i should know better.
Im using top gun pro 8.8mm leads .......cant fault them !

Magnecore is the go in my opinion, and Thundercords the Australian distributor give Toymods Club members a discount, which is nice. The set I got for my 3SGTE were about $240 from memory but the reason was that the proper clip on plugs for the distributor end were $7 each not to mention the big arse plugs to go onto the spark plugs.
I actually called this morning to get a quote for a 50cm coil lead with standard msd style ends and the response was "I'd be surprised if it was more than 20 bucks."
I have Magnecor leads and used my Toymods discount through a distributor over here.
Mine cost ~$180? I was so impressed with them I modified them when going 7M coilpacks.

I've always used Magnecor leads (from Thundercords, they are around the corner here) and never had a problem, especially in the race cars. Good value for handmade leads to spec.

Seems Magnecor have a strong following! I'll price up a set.
