nope, they dont, different flanges
Hey all,
just wondering if 2JZGTE turbo's would bolt straight up to a 1JZ?
i come across a set ,these are CT20A's and already have factory dumps...they are from Aristo.maybe these turbo's will flow better?..and are larger?
all thoughts appreciated guys..cheers

i'm pretty sure it doesnt line up either. which is why alot of people go for 1.5jz's, cause theyve gone single and dont want to change manifold etc.
Manifolds are not compatible. This is seriously not a good upgrade, there's a reason you don't see 2JZ turbos on anything apart from a 2JZ - there are too many issues to make it worthwhile.

if you want to try weird twin turbo options that are very cheap but require a lot of work [ie make your own manifold] nissan t25g's are worth a look.its been done a few times on this forum so you can search it.
im sure there are many other options also.
As Norbie said,2j turbos are not an option and most everyone on a budget will buy a chinese or old school s\hand single that have manifolds and support bits and pieces.easier and cheaper but many like to make stuff themselves,me included.![]()
Pete, T25G's are from GTR?
if so i have a pair on an engine that requires rebuild.
i seen a twin setup similar to that...on a 1JZ, i nearly bought it..but my guy in japan doesn tlike buying "junk" cars...he only buys drivable cars...this supra has no fuel pump,no panels..and looks like it hasnt been drivern in a while..
ok with what you've said i am still very interested in those dumps...i have held off due to sorting out other stuff on the car atm.

definitely not interchangeable.
CT12A's for 1JZ
CT12B's for 2JZ. also i think there would be a lot of dicking about with the Sequential system on this to even get it running. not worth it imho.

2JZ's have CT20A turbos, unless you happen to have a US/UK engine (unlikely).

Robbo: come along to one of the meets and I'll talk you through it....
it's definatley do-able, but I'm not sure if I'd do it again if I had to pay for the turbos.... (If you have a set laying round, then it might be worth it to see how it goes... depends how much you like working on jza70's... (it's a typical jza70 b*tch of a job))
the turbos i have on mine are the ones you'll find some details about on Ray Hall's Turbofast.com.au site (he still has details up there from when he put them on his Lexus, which has since been thru 2 big singles), and aside from the mods Ray did, I've had to make a spacer plate up to go between the 2 turbos, and modified the 1jz half manifods to suit the flanges on the 2jz turbos (the 2jz half manifolds won't bolt up to the block, it's a different spacing)
i initally thought mine were 12b's (not sure why, and i didnt think to take a photo showing any descriptions on the casting), but it appears they're 20a's from an aristo....
Like I said, feel free to get me to pop the hood next time you see me around and I'll tell you what I know....

btw, here's the link to the page on Ray's site where he details the mods he had to do....
http://www.turbofast.com.au/lexusengine.html
and that one shows some of the other mods involved, in particular, he had to move one of the ports on the rear pipe as it fouled the heater pipes on his car (and looks like it would have fouled the clutch master on mine)
