    Default A-70 tailshaft options

OK my tailshaft is not in ideal shape anymore, a bit of fatigue/wear on the "eyes" the uni joints press into.

I'm too scared to ask what a new Toyota one costs and not sure if there is any merit in another secondhand one, 600hp and old parts dont seem to mix.

Is there an aftermarket one available, has anyone had one made or even gone to a single piece one?

Manual and auto are different are they not?

I figured I'd use this as an opportunity to upgrade this part of the car.

as much as it hurts to view, im sure the yanks on supraforums.com were making lightweight replacements.

Might cost you some serious $$$ to ship, but you could always have a custom one fabricated.

just have a single peice made up,a few people have done it, the only person that springs to mind at the moment being Ezra (byteme)

Manual is about an inch longer than auto, the centre bearings as in the same position, they use different front sections, the rears are the same length (90% sure, could be other way around)

Thanks for the input guys. SO I guess I will save a little weight too by chucking out the centre bearing. Also have a new thread up re rear subframe bushes. This car is starting to get out of hand now....

How much does a single piece cost to get made up roughly?

Eldar, any luck on the sway bars?

BigWorm has one on his MX73 but it was made in Sydney. Maybe ask Matt (MR 1JZ) if he knows any good places in Adelaide. He usually knows somewhere to get anything done.

Any downside, say vibration problems etc at speed? My yokes are whats fucked so I assume that price included new ones?

I'd guess that that price was for if you supply the yoke/diff flange etc. Correct me if I'm wrong Matt.
