Actually the 977 Turbo, the turbo is made by BorgWarner and the technology used for the variable geometry system has been kept quite secret. "Advanced aerospace technology" as they put it.

The only problem is that they dont have wastegates so you cant run a screamer if your so inclined

You can run a wastegate, they are still used if the full open position of the geometry isn't sufficient to allow boost to be controlled to the desired level. Some VGT systems will over-boost if a wastegate isn't fitted.
