I think there Cable, just get under your car and look! if there is a cable with a screw type plug on the end of your trans then its cable.

Best thing to do is leave it and do 10's of thousands of K's and then when you go and sell it it will still have relatively low K's

oh ok. its not only the odometer but i cant tell wat speed i'm doing (not good cause i'm in a pretty sticky situation with my licence atm) will that cable be the cause of that as well?
it looks like the whole thing has just popped out of the back of me tranny.

yeah not too worried bout k's either cause there's no way it would be worth selling. haha

    cheers

    vinno.

    Cable.

As said, the cable goes from the back of the gearbox to the back of the dash (comes up along the firewall then through a grommet to the rear of the dash).

Should be pretty easy to diagnose. I suspect the cable is prbly broken, however it could be the cluster...

If you're in Brisbane and get stuck I might be able to give u a hand with it.

    Cheers

    fixed

the lock nut on the back of the gearbox had somehow come out and so the cable had fallen out so was a lot easier than expected.

    thanks for all the help.
