TA22/ early anycar windscreen demister, anyone got one that isn't shite!?

the a/c shouldnt make the air coming out of the demist duct colder (when the engine is heated up that is) it will just make it "drier"

you are usuing fresh air to demist right? is the inside of your windscreen clean?

Hi,

In the 25 the a/c only works with recirc air. It won't come on with fresh air - but it works and clears the windscreen. In the AE71 the a/c works with either recirc or fresh air - and the result is the same, in that it clears the windscreen.

you can try to use some anti fog sprays. What combination do you use to demist the front windscreen anyways?

also do you have all three speeds on your blower? try using "recirc" to re-use the heated air in the cabin and not the air from the outside of the car.

recirc makes it fog up if u leave it on recirc. coz theres more moisture in the air...

I've tried all combo's. The best seems to be window open! Only after ages can I run the heater without the screen fogging up

well your right about 1970's technology, i've got some crazy ideas:

- stock blower may be too slow > up grade to high rpm 12v drill motors attached to a 3inch computer fan blade connected to variable speed switch?

- heater takes too long to heat up > an electric heater core will work depending on the current output of your alternator/battery. How about up-scaling the cigarette lighter function, use PTC thermistors as temp sensors to switch off if too high of a temp?

any body else have any ideas they would like to share???

I know, run a few inverters in parrallel use the element from a 2000W a/c fan heater and a cheap GMC leafblower.
*Note, May need a 120 amp alternator, or 2!

theres a stuff called "rain x" that you put on the outside of your windows and it makes the water run off and not bead on the glass so it says. and the same people brought out "fog x" or something thats meant to be a really good anti fog stuff but i havent tried either yet as i bought them both a while ago but i upgraded to a late model daily driver and just use the aircon, demist fan setting and recirculate.
they are meant to last at least a few weeks per application
