The Diff will be an odd size from memory, 1430 or longer i think,
The box will most likely be a column shift so there is bound to be some headaches with that i would think.
hey guys, this has prob been covered many times before, i did do a search but couldnt find wat i was after.
i can get o liteace for free, it is complete and has the 1.8 engine in it, 5 speed and the diff, its only dona 140,000k's
wat i was wondering is, wat sort of gearbox do these puppies run and would the diff be the same as a hilux and good for a conversion into my ra28??
any help would be great thanks guys.

but are the diff centres the same as hilux??
its not a column change, its on the floor (or the centre console thing) but now i think of it, it would have shafts same as column shift as ya basically sit on the motor!!
would the box be a celica type 5 speed or something else, reason why i ask is cause i have a few corona and celica boxes laying round that are no good, so i could prob make something up to make it work. its only going behind a 12a mild port or a 18rc.

The diff is a G series so i can't see to much difference in the centers, but you never know!
The box i have no idea about, but i think from memory they used to use the clutch plate from the liteace for the Celica box to old holden conversion, so it may very well be related to the Celica's
Sorry i couldn't help more

Liteace is generally E series which is an oddball uncommon 7.1" size. Not compatible with the Hilux or Hiace G series. Best plan is to read diff and gearbox codes off the chassis plate, I would expect to see E282 for the diff and G52 for the box. Box shares the bellhousing pattern with the W55/57/58 boxes but not sure what else interchanges. This will depend what year Liteace you are running though so would pay to get the numbers off the chassis plate.Originally Posted by blacktopspirit

the van may still be of some use, apparently some of the vans got a bellhousing that bolts up to a Wxx gearbox and a K series engine.. something fairly sought after by corolla guys. is the van 7K or 2Y powered?
