Default A340LE-how much oil does it take

As above I don't want to overfill the gearbox. I just searched and can't find it.
    Thanks

Most Gearboxes have a plug purposely located on the Side such that you fill it up with Oil till it starts pouring out that plug.

But make sure the Vehicle is Horizontal when doing this.

To know how much Oil you need to buy, you can go here > http://www.datateck.com.au/lube/mobil_au/ and then just select the Vehicle you know comes with that G/Box from Factory.

Are you just filling the box or are you going to give it a good flush at the same time?
I would flush it now and be done with it
Use toyota auto fluid, its cheep and is good stuff

From memory the sump takes bout 2 to 3 litres, but you have to fill the converter and the cooler lines too

Your box has a dipstick, use it while the car is running

Search Ribfeast's post's for a detailed "how to do" on the tranny flush

Check your dipstick. Some specify Dextron II, others Toyota Type T-IV. and for a complete fill of trans, cooler, and converter, you will need to buy 2 x 4 litre containers. Leaves almost a litre for future top ups.

    cheers Chuck.
