is it a 20cent piece hole or just a crack?
if its just a crack most places will bog it up and then recover with new vinyl

even if it is a 20c piece 'hole' (ie: exposed inner core but without the hard topskin), it can be filled and recovered with vinly.
If anyone in SA wants details of a good repairer in adelaide (for these kind of dash repairs), PM me.

it is a hole size of 20c piece,
So they are repairable, how do the repair jobs come up, and anyone know of what costs may be involved.

Just buy a new dash.
Where from, i thought repairing them was the only option?Originally Posted by Cool1

the link you posted dosent seem to have a dash for the aw11 so id also be interested in how much it roughly costs to get a dash repaired that has a crack in itOriginally Posted by Cool1
edit: i noticed they will do restorations with the original dash thanks for the link +rep
I wont know the cost for a few weeks as it was just put on our account. Give them a ring and see what they say.

Guys, if you can supply your dash(TA22) they can restore it for $330+GST.
How they do the job:
First they remove the vinyl, then they put the dash on a TA22 dash frame, the dash gets sprayed with a stablizing material, then any cracks/missing material is filled with the same kind of foam. Once this is done the dash is put in a vacume to have the vinyl moulded on.
Not exactly cheap, but much better quality than the places that just bog up the cracks and vinyl over the top.
Yeah, that looks like the go alright. Pity they dont make new dashes for TA22/RA23etc (the fibreglass framed ones), but hey, toyota dash frames dont generally get farked.

BTW... pos rep for the link
