    Default CT26 Oil Feed, Flow!

Ok, I've done a few searches and can't find a definative response.

Looking at the stock oil Feed on a CT26 (In this case a 7M-GTE) I cant find any form of restrictor in the stock system.

On the 7M-GET I have here we ran a braided ss line from the mail oil gallery.

The turbo that was on it we were not sure of the condition of it when we put it on, but it appears the seals have blown, and dumped a river of oil in to the Exhaust.

    The question is..

Is the full flow of oil ok for a Stock CT26, or does some form of restrictor need to be used to cut the flow down?

My 3sgte ct26 had no restrictor anywhere so id say it doesnt need one being bush bearing as they need more oil than ball bearing turbos.

The restrictor in bush Bearing Turbo's tends to be inside set by the galleries themselves.

Also, so long as the ID of a SS Braided Line matches that of the ID on the Oil Feed outlet fitting from the Head or Oil Filter Housing, it should be fine.

I'm pretty sure the ID of the brass nipple on the end of the SS line is a slightly smaller size than the stock feed. not by a whole lot, but pretty sure it's smaller. I'll flop out the verniers and double check.

Is it possible that the seals carked it after being sitting outside a car for so long, or if when it was last run, not enough oil was being pumped in?

Having said that, there was hardly any play in the shaft when it came off the old engine. (old one ended up throwing a leg out of bed, and was being limped to it's final destination when it happened, so i wasn't exactly boosting along)
