sticky lifters and a dud starter motor?
hey guys i got myself a running xt130 station wagon today for free, i drove it back to my place and it was fine, but when i was driving a bit more it started getting a ticking sound (i thought big end??) then it stopped, now i have checked compression it seems alright, and its getting enough spark and fuel, when it first happened the started motor wasnt engaging properly so i was like wtf?? anyone got any suggestions??
Cheers Trent

no it shouldnt miss if its done a big end.
i think i missread your original post, so i take it it doesnt run now?
take off the oil cap, and see if you can see any rockers inside the cover. if ya can get a mate to turn the engine over while you look down there with a torch to see if the rockers move.
if they dont move its likely you have broken the timing gears. on the holden 6 they were made out of nylon. im not sure if the 1x's were aswell.

The timing gear theory may be correct, because i think i can recall the old owner saying it changed it not long ago, ( he was a dodgy fuck though so who knows), So if i take off the timing cover and see broken pieces means i'am in some trouble lol?,
Cheers again man,
