first up I'd be checking the jumper settings on the PCB for the ignition type, I'll go find my installation manuals for the emanage blue and check what jumper settings I used last time.
So you're using the JZZ30 type fields harness?
Hi there
Just got my Emanage blue from RHDJapan & have been fixing it all up, using the airflow harness it works fine, however when I plug in the full injector/ignition harness I get nothing at all, no lights no activity nothing.
I can't find anything googling so its over to you guys.
I'm using a Greddy plug & play harness so it "should" work, but am I right in thinking I might be needing to change the jumper connections using the full harness?? The engine is from a JZZ30 soarer & it all works fine with the stocko ECU plugged in.
So if someone has one, what did you do to get the thing working, even switching on?
When I do get it all up & running I'll let you know how I get on, I have the E-01 programmer too & a VEMS wideband unit to play with.

ok...
You need to set the dials to 7-4-0 first up if you're using a non-VVTi 1J with MAP sensor.
Your's is currently set to 6-2-2, which is for 3 coil (wasted spark) 6cyl, with a Toyota hotwire AFM (the 2-2 corresponds to TY-HW-3)
7-4-0 sets the unit up for 6 coil (coil on plug) 6cyl with a Toyota pressure sensor (MAP sensor type TY_PR-1)
The jumpers inside can be left on the default settings.
A good FAQ on the blue unit is here: http://www.mohdparts.com/emanage/EmanageFAQ.txt
If you're using the greddy pre-wired harness, then the ignition etc should be wired correctly, you can check the wiring with the following diagrams, take note that the ignition wiring gets wired in the firing order 1-5-3-6-2-4. If you wire it 1-1, 2-2, 3-3 etc then it will run fine until you try to advance the timing when the car will stumble and eventually stall.
Change the dials, if that doesn't work, check the wiring.
Ok Cheers for the info guys
One quick note - I'm now running a wasted spark set up, paired up (so three coils in total) So I assume the first jumper setting needs to be six.
I've no power at all to the unit - which is odd & yes I'm using a JZZ30 harness as my engine & box is from a JZZ30 Manual.

how is the wasted spark setup wired in to the stock ECU?
Is it still using the six ignitor drivers? If it is, I'd leave the dial set to 7.
what you said isnt very clear...
the e-manage has seperate harnesses for ignition and injectors.
the injector harness also includes the power wires for the unit.
your saying that everything works fine with the stock ECU, so id leave the unit set to what it would from factory and see what happens.

Also, I would use this the check that the wires have been connected correctly into the plugs:
eManage Colour Wiring Chart
Then go back and make sure that the ignition system is 100% matching the switch settings you're using. There's something about the "injector earth" wires that (and I'm not sure I remember this right) you can't just earth the wire, you have to wire it to the correct injector earth wire, which should be fine.
I don't quite understand what you mean about using the Air Flow Harness, since the AFM/MAP signal is part of the injector harness anyway.

OK Problem fixed yay
It was an earth connection, despite it being earthed through the harness there was an additional earth that needed to be connected.
So I'm now all up & running, after some teething coughing & spluttering it all works yay
I have an E-01 unit which allows full programming of the blue is is a very good bit of kit, so will be doing mapping with that shortly.
For future ref PIN Settings
Pot 1 is set to 6 normally on a 1JZ but I'm wasted spark 3 coil so its setting 7 for me
2 is set to 4
3 is set to 0,1 or 2 all works the same (so thats 40,41 or 42) which is the pressure sensor setting
JP2 is set to 2-3 not 1-2 as per the factory settings
I have a VEMS wideband unit that will be plugged into & will be used for data logging

yeah, the unit has a ground, and the injector harness also has a ground, but its a seperate "injector ground".
glad ya got it all working.
post up how ya go with the tuning!
Elmo.
I'd be interested in that too, I'm waiting on my e-01 to arrive and I'd like to know how you found it.![]()
