I will be in the area as i am running the REX @ QR for the ironman sprints.
Will try to get over and say hi Grant and show you the new beast. 4 months of not having my toy has nearly killed me but it has well been worth the wait
2.2l grunta with all forged internals, 6 speed box, helical front diff, huge turbo, Autronic ecu
hopefully should make close to 250 kws atw
Should be a great thing to drive on dirt

    nice truck
needs lowering and big rims and a big zorst lol
thats a practical way to get your classic around, it looks good
i would rather truck it than trailer it any day

i didn't find Nev (TA22GT) or Jeza as they was down the road at QR - but met up with Grant (boyracer).

Car 8 - (WRX with of all things on a race car - neons) had a numbers of incompletes and topped off their night on stage 7 with a gentle roll onto the roof at spec point 3.

Grant's TA snapped an axle - so he'll be in the market for a rather rare lump of steel. BTW hi s truck is hard to miss in a carpark

Two escorts overheating and a few other cars suffereing various mechanical/electrical ailments that you'd expect at a race meet on rough surfaces.

A lot or tarmac drivers a bit unsure of how hard to go on the compacted granite/dirt - and with several long straight sprints in the circuit, speeds were pretty bloody high.

Will be there next year for the whole day!

Interesting to note the times: the 4WD turbo cars doing sub 4 minute times with the older cars around the 5 minute mark.

Yeah all in all was a good day/night ...

Your right chuck speed was high in places but thats what makes it fun ... where we snaped the axle you come down there 5th gear at around 6000 witch is about 150 .. then leave it till the 50m braking marker hard on the picks and back to 1st for a turn very hard right now thats fun ... it was just as i poped the clutch and let the handbrake off that axle let go ... THANK CHRIST it happened there and not 50m before

we timed our first 3 runs and would have been 6th outright .. we were about the 4.12
Stuiey reid in batesy old rolla was mind blowingly quick and was doing it in the 4.00 mark .. if any one has ever seen him drive its just magic he could drive a wheel barrow quick , wish i had half as much talent.
The other guy to watch is siddions in the z car he was only 2 seconds off the corolla on thats quick for a 2wheel drive

    anyway see ya's later GRANT
