hilux dash?

hi guys,
ive been toying with the idea of putting a dash out of a later model hilux (98-02) into my hilux (84-88).
anyone heard of anyone doing this? and how hard it was?
or anyone got any better ideas?

YN 57, right? These sort of things can be done, it's just a matter of how determined and patient you are. It's not going to be a bolt-up proposition, and it won't be quick.

I've seen late model commodore dashes wedged into old (late 1960's) holden utes, so anything's possible.

I'd start simple with a tape measure over your ute and the intended donor, just to see if it will be a 'more-or-less' type of fit or a major cut-and-shut job.

i attempted a 00 into my 92, and it wasn't easy get it in & the end decided not to run with it.
It fouls in a lot of areas eg, around the cluster. Plus you have to trim the window side to match the different profile in the firewalls, then you have make new mount to line up the screw holes. But if wanna give it crack it is possible with a lot of work.

This guy put an AE92 Corolla dash into his '85 Hilux. But I gather he wasn't aiming for a stock look as he was using an aftermarket instrument cluster.
