    Default Ra28 modifications

What are the most common and easy upgrades for the Ra28 appart from obvious motor and trans upgrades.

I will be completely starting afresh on my project and would like to know where to go

    Disc brake rear end setup?
could you also please advise me on prices aswell!!!

    Thanks.

You could do power front windows for the cost of a pair of electric winders (ebay etc). At the same time you could do Riceburners roller track upgrade and clean out the tracks.

Then theres always wheels, Rewinds or Simmons. Whatever tickles your fancy. ($1000+)

Try and get hold of a GT Handbrake surround, and a GT grill? each are obtainable around the $100 mark.

Detail your engine bay? Consisting of degreasing the entire thing, detailing rocker covers, tyding wires etc. Wouldn't cost more that $7 bottle of degreaser and some elbow grease!

In terms of upgrades like trans etc, depends what motor your running with. I hear a ST-141 rear disk brake setup goes without too much fuss (search). And shouldn't bust the hip pocket.

A new radiator if you wanted? I hear Excel ones work a treat, or you could get your original recored (tripple?). (~$500?)

Diff might need an upgrade if you go the 1G route, so Volvo or Hilux, going to cost over Could cost anywhere between $600+ depending if you want new seals, shortened diff, LSD etc etc.

Letting us know what you plan on doing with the engine will help you decide what else you might need to do (Pug/Hilux front brake setup, maybe with coilovers?)

the corona disks and calipers are so freaking hard to find its not funny, im looking for alternatives, i have been contemplating using n13 pulsar fronts and geting disks re-drilled but then the issue of handbrake shit comes into play, rear drums are fine for alot of shit upgrade the fronts and u will be fine

best upgrade your front brakes before your rear brakes..otherwise u'll be locking ur rears up all day. First thing i'd prolly do is fix up whatever needs fixing in the body. Once thats done you have a good base for eveyrthing else

i woulda guessed a little more.. theres this one on ebay going for $300+

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TA-23-RA23-an...QQcmdZViewItem

    but they look awesome..

also, maybe some ra25 rear lights setup? got an fabricator friends? - make something custom

got a mate planning a ra28 restoration.. u just gotta be imaginative. bmw side mirrors (indicator on them), unique bonnet vents etc. anything is possible really.

the standard engines for these (and there is ALOT of info on how to do it around) are the 18r-g, and for the lovers of turbo, 1g-gte..

a good idea is to check out other 28's in the members thread and get some ideas. but basically, nice wheels, reliable/fast engine, good paint, clean interior, is all u need to enjoy it (and lighten the wallet )

    cheers..

I wouldn't worry about trying to get RA25 rear lights.

I sold my spare GT grill with badge for $150. That one on Ebay looks to be perfectly "restored" hence the $300 price tag.

It's not that difficult to get a GT grill or handbrake surround out of America.

i love the ra25 taillights, nah dont no any fabricators, although i used to work part time at a motorcylce exhaust place, and i picked up a few bits and pieces there so im not to bad at conjuring something up, i thought about making my own "ra25" tailights

    Hi,

Yeah, don't worry about the RA25 tail lights. Leave them for the RA25 owners in case they need a set one day.

reality is 4a doesnt have enough torque for the size of a 28.
