    Default Reconditioning TEMS Shock Absorbers

    Hey All,
Does anyone out there know of any places that can recondition a set of TEMS shocks? They are out of my AE92 Trueno, I think they are a similar set-up to MA70 ones, ie, two settings, three wires going in. I think they would need new seals and oil, and that's about it (unless they have gas in them as well, but I don't think so). Pedders said they used to be able to do it, but don't anymore (or don't want to anymore). Other places have just said "REPAIR shock absorbers?", looking at me like I've grown another head or something.
A set of everyday KYBs is around $500, saw a set of replacement KYB TEMS for $800, or fully adjustable coil overs for $1600. I'd like to get the TEMS back in, ideally for under $500 for them all to be reco'd.
If anyone has any suggestions for the Sydney area that would be great.
    Ta, Jon.

What are toyota asking for them? I know the ma70 TEMS shocks were ridiculously cheap as toyota genuine spare parts a few years ago.

I was scared to ask... but I've just sent Castle Hill an email, so I wonder what it will be?
Found a few places that recondition that I will ring also. I'll post my results for anyone else in my situation...

I would be interested to know this as well, for the TEMS shocks in my MZ11. They feel like they go alright, but I could do with at least a new set of dust covers for them. Anyone know where you can get rubber dust covers for shocks?

    Okay, back from my homework.
WW Shockabsorbers in Brisbane will recondition them for $220 each.
Japanparts.com has two types of KYB replacement ones for US$267 and US$662 a set, or each, I can't really work it out - the information given is a little vague.
Castle Hill Toyota will do them for a ridiculously expensive price (comparable to a fully adjustable Bilstein set-up, installed),
So I'll be going with Mr Revhead's offer.
Hope this helps anyone else out there...

Dr Shocks in Brookvale will do regas and reseal i think. Shouldn't cost too much. I think you'll pay the same price for regas/seal as you will for a standard set of monroe gt gas.

If your TEMS actuators are working fine, then yeah.. regas and reseal shoud only cost $400 depending on who you find.

That place has some top notch prices (they're in $US, but our aussie dollar is going strong, so i'd buy quick)... you'll just have to wait for shipping

*PS: search the site for the ones you need.. i just quickly opened up the page and searched for ae86 as an example... they have ma70 ones designed for TEMS, so i'm sure they can sort something out for your trueno*
