Thread guages would be the easiest, i just take the stuff i need fittings for down to the local performance shop so i cant get it wrong. Theres so many different types. So unless your getting them dirt cheap off the net thats the easiest way, but heres what ive learnt about speedflow fittings
tapered etc thats bpt i think? correct me if im wrong, and npt being the other which is just a constant untapered thread.
The 90degree, 45degree and straight pieces that join onto the hose & adaptor are easy enough because the -6 -8 etc is just one standard thread and just indicates the ID of the hose and fittings.. The adaptor is the tricky one, that needs thread guages and/or calipers.
