no toyota centres will fit into the bog whiner diff
Hi there, I did a thorough search on this subject and can only seem to find reference to the fact that the live axles on an Aussie non avanti RT142 corona are the 'small borg warner type'
Was trying to fibnd out the following if anyone knows
Do any toyota centers fit into this diff?
what series is the center?
How many spline are the centers?
What are the options for upgrading the centers in these?
Someone said they may be the same as an AE95 rear diff. Can anyone confirm?
Thanks heaps in advance.
All the best - Mick
no toyota centres will fit into the bog whiner diff
- ma61 + 2jz-gte + v160 + 3.5 torsen
no lsd's are available for these borg warner diffs. They are smaller than the commodore/falcon diffs so no joy there either. Only option is another diff.
SOLD : 1GGTE Rt142 Corona - Twin TD04-9b turbos - 180rwkw = 13.1 @105mph
I THINK Ra40 T series diff's bolt in ?
unlikely as RA40 is not the same generation of chassis/floorplan as the RT142.Originally Posted by too_quick

So then an RA40 diff is a t series and will bolt in. So does this mean an RA60 or ST141 diff is a t series? could I use an st141 corona rear end and bolt in a t series LSD?
Thanks for the other info guys.
No, ST141 has the same diff as RT142 ie borg warner.
RA60 has a T series but I'm not sure if its the same as RA40.
Going by the link i posted a RA40 T series will bolt in and they have TRD, Cusco, KAAZ lsd's available.
The easiest way to explain is that the Borg Warner has a tin hat on the back and the centre comes out through this(crown wheel and pinion).
The Jap T,E,F,G and S series diffs unbolt from the front which sits in its own carrier.
Borg Warners are salsbury diffs and Jap diffs are Banjo's.
If you are going to use a Jap diff in a RT142 or ST 141 then you will have to change the whole diff housing.
Cheers Brett.
Could you fit the IRs rear out of a TT142? With the same chassis type you might find they have dual mount point options. Although i don't have a shred of information to back that up, but it seems like a Toyota type thing to do
EDIT: Scratch that, other sources on the forums say its not possible - bit of a shame.
