Idle cold? Or idle at operating temp?
Finally hooked up my Greddy bling oil pressure gauge and of course it measures in kg/cm squared.
At idle oil pressure is 4 kg/cm squared and after a little blip of the throttle increases to 5kg/cm squared and slowly comes back down.
From my calculations:
4kg/cm squared = 57psi
5kg/cm squared = 71psi
Firstly, are these calculations right and how does this rate against other modified oiling systems?
Sounds a bit high for a 7mgte?
EDIT: checked TSRM 4.3psi or more at idle and 2.5 - 5kg/cm squared at 3500rpm. At it confirms that 5kg/cm squared is 71psi.
However, this still sounds fairly high as the blip of the throttle was only to approx 2000rpm.

i don't know how different motors are but my 1G is about 30 - 40 PSI at idel and 80PSI at anthing above about 1400RPM at operating temp, when cold it is always up at 80PSI. so to me i wouldn't be too worried.

You will have plenty of pressure when the oil is cold at idle and near bugger all when the engine is hot(a few psi). The oil's viscosity changes dramactically through temp changes.
The oil can take more than 10 minutes to heat up operating temp too even when driving around. Much slower than the engine's coolant warm up time.
