    Default fuel pump fuse

    hey all,
just wondering if anyone has an idea whats goin on with my car,
i have a ae71 with ae92 4agze in it, its got the standard ECU for it and i run a standard fuel tank with a surge tank in the boot with some type of lift pump and high pressure pump (they came with the engine when i bought it) i just replaced the fuel cell with the standard fuel tank on friday and i was goin for a strap yesterday and was goin ok for about 1/2 hour then it stalled, found that it was the fuel pump fuse and replaced it. started it again got 100m down the road then it blew again, replaced it with a bigger one and it did the same thing! whats goin on? are my pumps dieing and drawing too much current or what?

I blew a fuel pump fuse while attempting to drift at calder park a while ago, but i'm not running a surge tank so i figured i starved the pump.

i put in a 20 amp fuse in place of the 10 amp one i had, it could be as simple as not having the right fuse (but don't just jam a huge fuse in, the fuse is there for a good reason!)

was it a hot day? how is your surge tank set up? if your main pump is getting hot fuel or no fuel then it could cause problems.

it did have a 15 amp fuse in there in the first place then i changed it to a 20 amp it it blew it too.
it wasnt that hot yesterday either
i have the low pressure pump connected to the pick up line inside the tank then it feeds the surge tank i dont think the lines are getting pinched when it goes under the boot floor to the tank so i dont THINK its that.

The positive wire to the pump that would cause the fuse to blow?
