Default mz10/ma61 5 stud rear questions

    Hi all,
Ive done a search and couldnt find anything relevant
Im looking to convert the rear of my mz10 for better wheel selection, I know I have to use the hubs and brakes from a ms123 crown,
Now, Do I have to use the brake calipers from the crown or can I use the calipers off the mz10 (not too sure If theyre the same as my car is located somewhere else so cant compare)
Can the hubs/stub axels be hammered out of the crowns rear arms or do they have to be pressed out?
Sorry for the questions, just trying to save some cash as I have a limited budget

    Cheers,
    Dan

There are two options for the rear brakes. You can either keep the original calipers and re-drill the original rotors to 5-stud, or you can adapt MS123 calipers and rotors to your swingarm. The former is pretty self-explanatory (I choose that path with my MA61), the latter I can't quite recall the details but others have done it and I'm sure they'll chime in.

You'll need a 5t press to get the wheel bearings out. I've heard of people bashing them out after a considerable amount of time and effort, but I'd rather pay a workshop a few bucks to press them out.

Waz - I have a set of rear MS123 hubs for sale if you haven't got them already.

Easiest option is, as Norbie said, to keep your standard brakes and re-drill the rotors to suit the new stud pattern.

Forgot to mention, the MA61/MZ10 rotors need to have the centre hole enlarged from 60mm to 67mm. Any machine shop can do this and the re-drilling easily.

I've done several sets of these, and all is quite easy. Personally, I suggest using R33 Skyline rear rotors and calipers, easy to adapt and much better than the Crown stuff.

Also, if you live in Vic not too far from me, I don't mind showing you want I did.

I used the MS123 disks and skimmed a few mm off the rear of the MA61 caliper bracket.

I'd suggest doing whatever is easiest!
