classic celica appreciation day whos attending?

ok heres the plan,
sunday 29th july, classic celica cruise too newcastle, sydney people meet up where ever is cenral for most of you guys, newcastle and central coast people will meet up at the twin servos on the the freeway at 11:00am, for 11:30am departure too newy.

meet up at thornleigh maccas at 9am for a 9:30 departure,
that gives us one and a half hours to get to the twin servos on the F3,

also anyone from newcastle who want too meet up for the drive too the twin servos can meet us at swansea maccas at 10am for a 10:15am departure

from the twin servos we will be taking the swansea, east lake macquarie exit off the freeway, and heading around the lake too croudace bay park where I will have a bbq and drinks for every one for lunch, free of charge, for all classic celica owners. Everyone else who attends is also welcome to lunch, sausage and onion sandwiches $2 and drinks $1 each, just too cover part of the costs
after lunch and a few photos and the general get together, we will start heading back towards the freeway, with a stopover at bemont airport where chris (thanx chris ) has organised us to get our car onto the runway for a few photos and infront of the hangers and maybe a plane.


the main reasoning for this cruise is 1, its my birthday the week before and the other reason is that there dosnt seem to be many people into cruising of late, im guilty too, ive been around this club on and off over a lot of years and there used to be a really good number of old celicas in the turn out, over the years o lot of people have mooved on, and the the last year or so there seems to be a lot of new people with old celicas, and the plan is too get all of us together for a general meet and greet and admire each others cars, so im going to put on a free lunch as stated before for all celica owners, just too entise some of you sydney siders up, for a nice drive and a meet up, and too get some fresh air

others cars are also welcome but no free lunch as i want too entise the celica owners to pull their pride and joy out of the shed.

i agree with steve here,

i was looking at the gallery and in the old cruise picture there seems to be a nice turn out of 30-50 cars,

these days we get a nice turn out at meetings which is expected,

when puzzle man was official cruise dude, he didnt get the support he deserved,

even now that stitt is the cruise dude he still isnt getting the support that he should,

we all talk about being a club, how about we stop sitting behind a PC and on the forums and get out and show us your car and enjoy it with people that have the same passion,

just take a quick look at the victorian celica club they have a bit of support when it comes to cruising there celicas,

why are NSW people different??

lambo, it probably better that someone from sydney organises there meet up, if dqikst wants too organise that part he can its just im not from sydney so dont know the area that well, just be at the twin servos by 11am for an 11:30 am departure.

like i said too, if the date does not suit the magority, then i can change it so it does,

a classic celica, or something old skool, doesnt have to be neat or flashy just get a pre 77 celica to show your support,
your self and maybe some one to keep you company

Mate this is an Awesome Idea and follows on really well from Ibz Oldskool Cruise. Sundays are normally out for me but I will see what I can do.

The first "MegaCruise" was actually started by Bigperm (our SA defecting Ex board member, former Cruise Dude and classic Celica Owner) as a Classic Celica Cruise. There were 12 Celicas that stuck around till the end of the cruise.



I hope to see pics with more than that this time

Of the 6 TA22's I only know the fate of 3 for sure.
Yogi's Green TA22 (Front Left) and Rudi's Maroon TA22 (Front Right) are still around. The pornstar (Centre Rear) is now scrap metal

Of the 6 xA23's The front 3 are all still around in one way or another. Bigperms is still around, even if it is slumming it in SA Joe's Old mustard One is Currently for Sale by Dav and Grants (aka Toyrota) old Celica (Centre of Front Row) was stripped downand being tubbed last I saw its build up thread. Not sure on the fate of the rear 3.

Back on track tho, This really is a great move by Steve and hopefully it revives a much lost spirt from us Classic Celica owners. There is so much more to owning one than can be experienced from behind a Keyboard.
