you can definitely go negative..
i think originally it was goin gto be that you could no longer post, but i don't think that was actually implemented..

what will happen is that people will instantly realise that you've done something to piss people off and will be wary about any comments you do make

that other thread (?) had the rating you get for neg too.. lowest being a labrador selling such and such

that depends on what happens when people start getting neg rep...

perhaps at -10 they should lose posting rights, but between 0 and -10 they have a chance to redeem themselves?

effect is not so bad NOW.. but that is because we have limited wookies so far... when the wookies come, they will be dealt with, and losing posting rights i think is a good way to reinforce that

edit: what happens now, is when you go below 10 rep (like yourself ) you LOSE the right to give other people rep. ie you have no rep power... that is the first step...

Maybe they could cop say a 2 week to one month ban, that way they might learn to change the way they are posting, if they continue to be an arse then they get booted for good.

The rep system does not automatically impose any limits at all. You can still post in the basic sections and participate just as you do now.

In practice a low or negative level of rep does not go unnoticed and the mods such as myself will no doubt go and see what all the fuss is about. What we do about it depends on why you have gotten such low rep and what contribution we feel your making to the forums. If we don't like what we see you would be warned or Banned.

We have already had one person banned as a direct result of this process.
