Default JZ coilpack resistance specifications and how to test them

So... did a bit of a search and wanting to know how to test jz coils and what resistance readings etc i should be seeing

my quick googling suggests that there are 2 tests that need to be done...

basically just need to figure out if some spare coils i have are any good or rubbish...

You would need an ohm meter that does show resistance below 10 Ohm. So you can distinguish between say 0.5 Ohm and true zero. Test primary winding resistance, should be below 2 Ohm and above 0.4 Ohm. If it's ok then either test them with an engine or some sort of test setup. You will need pulse generator, carby igniter and spark plug. In the simplest case you make 1-relay generator and igniter 2-in-1 (requires 1 relay and some wires) and quick test your packs with it. Note that packs may contain shorted wires inside them but still give spark, so more sophisticated test should follow.
