I should also add that when you turn off the car and restart it, there are no fault codes. The engine also idles at 1500rpm.
Im getting my car on the road in the coming days and I got the first chance to drive it to the engineer. It was good and bad with the engine check light coming on not far into my trip . I got numerous codes which are:
24 - Intake air thermo sensor signal
25 - ?
31 - Air flow meter signal
42 - Vehicle speed
So my first issue is the AFM. How do I test it? Is there some way of testing the electrical resistance when you move the flap?

A bit of an update. I have been troubleshooting the speed sensor issue. Through research I have found that your speedo, when spun should send 4 signals. I tried this with a spare corona cluster to see if it worked. Sure enough when you connected a multimeter up to the speedo and spun the input you got 4 signals. However when I have done the same with my current cluster, there is not 4 signals only a continuous signal. Maybe it is going to groundI will pull apart cluster and investigate.

my car also has a code 31 .. i completely changed my afm.. and the code was still there
and my afc neo is indicating that the afm is working correctly .
so any info on this would be helpfull to me as well

ill bung mine on a meter tonight and tell you what it reads at various points of opening,
have you got the speedo sender wired in?

you may have a bung speedo sender, judging by the difficulty i had laying my hands on one id say they must crack the sads pretty frequently.

Pube,
if the new car was originally a carby engine (2S-C), then it wont have the "4P" SPD output.
It's possible that your AFM wiring is up the date too - if you are getting both AFM signal faults and intake air temp sensor faults.... both these come from the AFM.
...... butt scratcher?!
the car was 22RE powered and it was faultless in the old car the sideshow wired but no so in this ( I wired this one) as the wiring was a little different than the other CSi corona. I have just pulled apart the instrument cluster to try and find why the speed sensor seemed to be going straight to earth instead off then on as the input rotated. I found that inside the cluster on the speedo where the two wires pick up the signal was shorted! I swapped over the part from another dash and bench tests say its good now.
Its strange, maybe it could be cracking the sads due to the speed sensor problem as it doesnt not show faults until around 80km/h.

After I had put everything back together I just took her for a spin up and down the road at around 100km/h to test for faults. Im happy to say the fault light didnt illuminate this time. However, when I get it registered on Wednesday I can really test it then.Hopefully fixing the speed signal wire did something good!

How do the tdo4-9b turbos feel Pube???
speed signal ? never hooked that up on mine![]()

I think the prob with the speed signal is that it was shorting out to earth instead of on/off. It probably doesnt need any speed signal but doesnt like being earthed either.
td04's feel great, im very happy with them after all the mucking around to fit them![]()
