you learn something new everyday. So apart from Matts manifold dramas and the snapped timing belt, what other dramas were there? and who cut the quickest time?
Good Toyota engineering means all belt driven engines are non interference so no damage to be done it just stops

Roundy had a problem with missing dump bolts and his ecu wouldnt come out of limp mode when he got that sorted, so he had a shit of a day. He did get a drive of his Dad's M3 though, so it wasn't all bad Not sure who did what times though

dandan said he hand timed a few of my laps and they were getting better from 1:23s down to 1:22s.. I think last time I was there I was around 1:25-1:23 mark..
Later in the day I was chasing another guy in a basically identical car (he had slightly better suspension/tyres and a bit more experience) and I was consistently about a metre or 2 off his rear bumper for 10+ laps continuous.. Turned out he had his own timing gear hooked up and is getting down into the 1:21s so I was pretty chuffed that I was keeping up with him! Would love to get a run with proper timing gear some time to get a true figure for what I'm actually able to get around in..
**edit** Must remember to take out spare tyre etc next time I'm there to try and shave a few kgs!!
Was a great day! Thanks for letting the little swift participate! Was great to meet all of you...just a shame we couldn't stay friday night.
Big learning experience for me being the first time on a circuit. But still had a stop watched time of 1'15.9 which I'm pretty happy with!!
I'm definately interested in coming down again (if you guys will let me )
Cheers

Hey Guys,
Well my dad and i got home safely...went via Crookwell nice 27km's worth of dirt road...didn't worry me with how much i was loving my car at that point in time , the beemer was taking it very easy
Anyways still enjoyed the weekend, beats work any day of the week
The M3 drive was fun, the spin not so much so but oh well you get that!
hmms november is the next one...i might have to try to get out there again before that...as long as i know my car is perfectly sorted tho!
Also cheers to Matt for taking me into town to grab the bolt for the turbo, appreciated it!
Cheers

Was a fun day, thanks for organising it Garth.
I cooked my brakes, made driving home fun as the stopping distance has now doubled. They needed to be bled anyway I just didn't get around to it before I went.

What is the legality of sea food extender? I know you're not allowed to have a quick feast in a street car but am unsure of just the extender.
Nathan, Gerard and i also went out on saturday morning to see the ferraris.... apart from the fact they were all red, the biggest thing i noticed was that they were all SLOW!
There was a Maserati that was starting to get a bit quicker as we were ready to leave.
I think most of the drivers just plodded around the track cos they were afraid of hurting their cars.... our days are definatly alot more fun. Especially when your in the passenger seat of an M3 that is spinning wildly!
Also, we went to have a look at a Ferrari 430 in the pits and we were fairly amused to see they had $100 dollar helmets.

I'm thinking of heading up again in about 5-6 weeks time, just probably to a normal "no speed limit day". I might post some potential dates in case anyone else is keen.Originally Posted by Roundy
Definitely keen for November too.
Jack, no damage as Justen said, once the new belt was on it was all good

How about I give you the timer, and I'll try and keep up with you - makes more sense as I reckon I'd be holding you up from what I saw
