    Default ke30 3rzfe turbo

Hi guy,s I,m 3/4 way through this conversion, easiest i,ve ever done. will help with photo,s & tech support if any one,s interested.KE30 Sed 2.7L 3rzfe turbonetics turbo, 8.5/1 arias pistons, pauter conrods. LT10S microtec, supra 5 speed, hilux diff 3.7 / 1 ratio 89 cressida struts & discs Taken 5 weeks so far ( my son does hilux to anything conversions) but every thing else done myself. the 2 hardest parts were the sump & 3.5in stainless exhaust (still in progress) Won,t be any more photos for a while, it now gets stripped, cleaned, paint under bonnet, wiring and tune, paint is stayig original (only done 82000ks) auto badge, interior, plastic headlight covers all staying. might even paint intercooler flat black (it stands out like dogs) all up cost under $6000 any ideas on a no plate thinking of 51EPA

don't just say you've done it. Start putting up a walk thru for all those people who want to put them in RA's, TA's, KE's, etc etc etc...

Start at the basics, engine mounts, height issues of engine, which sump you used etc etc etc....

Have the inlet & exhaust away getting tig welded, will post them when they,re back on. no height problems even with standard manifolds. Im doing the sump [ the hardest bit of all ] at the moment, rh engine mount sits straight onto original ke30 mount, had to cut 40mm out of lh mount bracket then it bolts straight on, used std supra rubber rear mount but everything else std ke30, shortened hilux tailshaft 1200mm, i,m using the std sump rotated and redrilled & rebaffled

I'd imagine the sump you'd have to do some major cutting and re routing to get it all to work. Was dry sump out of the question?

It is interesting that slight modificaiton of the mounts was all that was needed to make it fit. That will make some people happy..

What hilux/prado did you get the engine from? Also do you have any pics?

Came out of a 99 2wd hilux auto, same place as the 3,9 diff centre. The sump is the only hard part of the whole conversion. i rotated it 180 deg, redrilld holes {not 1 lined up] As i plan to go to the jamboree i have to make sure the baffling is right, all the work is done by myself at home in the shed. will get photos as soon as i can

Hi Brett, I bought arias pistons, hp ring set, pauter con rods, hd gudgeon pins, .040in multi layer stainless head gasket total cost inc ups of$1366.65 US. about $1650AUS landed. Cheaper & better than decompression plate, retiming cams etc. They are 95.5mm so you have to bore .020 thou. I paid $300 for motor gear box & diff centre with 135000ks on

you cut a fair bit out of that cross member. But looks good!

Instead of modifying, try and chase down a Prado front sump. Might help in this situtaion.

Looks good otherwise. Could we get close of photos of the engine mounts, and gearbox mounts?

haven,t cut anything out of cross member, have added a tag to take the front mount bolt, could have moved the engine back 50mm but gear shift with the supra box ends up to far back, if you use hilux box no probs but i checked ratios and opted for the supra, sump is proving easier than expected, would have had to cut & shut & baffel prado also. getting manifolds back tommorrow update photo,s then

Doesn't actually look cut to me? It might just be the engine mounts coming forward that give you that impression? If it was cut you would start running into clearance issues with the steering.

Pistons alone are $427US no problems with 20PSI but I,m told the rods have drama,s after 6000rpm

ahh, it just looks cut from the photos, obviously it isn't. Which makes it even better

I've got plans for an auto 3rz auto into a ke20 for a drag car. This makes it all too easy.
