Default How to fix Fuel Gauge Sender in MA-70

I have a MA-70 supra and the fuel guage is not reading correctly and I believe the resistence is out between the two points on the sender unit. Toyota does not carry any new stock and I am having a hard time finding one second hand any thoughts.

Have you pulled the sender out of the tank?, ive had a few cars with broken guages, just turns out to be that the float has broken off the arm or something simple like that, you may be able to repair yours without to much hassel.

Youll be able to get to the sender if you take out the bottom of the back seat and there should be a plate with a few bolts in it undo it and youll have access to the sender unit. If the ma70 is like every other car.

The fuel sender unit is under the carpet in the boot on the RHS. Like BeRad said, there is a plate with a few bolts in it. I had this same problem with my Supra, removed the sender and found the float wasn't contacting the sender unit properly, giving me a false reading. I think I just bent it back and haven't had any problems with it since.
