    Default General turbo question

Ive just acquired a T25g turbo which was in "awesome" condition. Now its actually in my little hands ive inspected it and am less than impressed. My reference point is my spare set of ct12 turbos which I can freely spin and after ive stopped turning it the wheel continues for a few seconds, I consider this normal.
The t25g however when i turn the wheel it isnt as easy to turn and once I stop spinning it the wheel stops almost immediately.

Is this turbo worse for wear?

They have to accrew enough for nose reconstructions as well as feeding his mime family. The dont talk much so they never need much water for their dry mouths.

it is a BB turbo, but I kinda figure they would be easier to spin compared to nonBB.
Maybe the bearings are dry? Dont know enough about turbos ;-)

okay I'll send it now - its for a specific type of turbo but is quite indepth and could be used for other types as well I figured,

but worst case, it being a t25g bb turbo Cooma Diesel will actually look at it and not scream loudly and hang the phone up on you.

    hey Kedz,
    It doesnt sound right.
I use a T25G in my 4AGTE AE86. Spins freely everytime, and should spin 'on'......
I also have a spare T25G in the cupboard, in good nick, which is also free spinning.

I have found, that these turbos are so cheap, just buy another one, rather than a rebuild...

Sorry I can't be more helpful, but iam already late for work!

Did you ever end up selling tha cressie?

Thanks guys, Jo Jo sell me your spare

Smokey, surely there is a safer way to free up this chunky oil rather than risking no wastegate!

mine keeps spinning for a bit after i stopped too ... however the old turbo that I took off my car (TD05H) does not spins as long (I tried when I removed it to change to new turbo) ... it acuatually almost stopped spinning within a second after i stopped, but the turbo was working fine on the car before i remove it tho ... i hope that helps somehow

You could try using some kind of cleaner, wd40??? Degreaser??? Just make sure its something that wont fuck with seals or bearings

But, its not overly dangerous, if you pull the waste gate hose off. Just dont stay up it to long... But obviously you could drive with it on, if it doesnt make boost, then you know the turbo isnt spooling properly, so then you pop that off briefly, give it a bit of a squirt up the street and jump off as soon as you see it make boost, and then put that hose back on and see how it drives after...
Thats what i done... It made 20psi, but only for about 1 second, but i have no excuse for the next too boot fulls lol

But if ur running an aftermarket ecu, thats prolly a bad idea...
