    Default clutch shudder

just noticed a small clutch shudder on downshift in the vermin, only seems to happen at lower speeds (eg. ~ 40 - 60 kph).

had a quick look underneathe with the torch, all the mounts appear to look fine, i'll have a better look tomorow when i change the oil.

anyone know what the shudder could point to??

    cheers.

if its not engine or trans mounts it will prob be one of the obvious reasons
    oil
    flywheel needs machining
or may even be the way you release the clutch ( seat position still the same )
brother in law thought he needed a new clutch for 3 months, then he cleaned his car and got rid of car mats and hey presto clutch was back to normal.

hopefuly no oil, is a fresh engine and i dont see any oil leaks.

new machined flywheel and clutch kit.

    same seat position.

the engine mounts dont look the best, though it wasnt doing it i'm sure when i was back home. maybe i'm just noticing all the little things in my anticipation to this w/end event.

clutch shudder is common as dog shit, all my cars do it after a hard run when clutch is hot.

Mate in his AW11 had a shudder and also a rattly noise when we depressed or realeased his clutch. Turned out to be a loose bolt on one of the engine mounts.

i got that shudder.. but it's accompanied by the clutch slipping...

hopefully that's not your case but yea even brand new clutches can slip / fail if installed incorrectly

resin transfer not even on the flywheel and pressure plate.. same as for brake discs when they get "warped"....
give it some slip and clean it up?

shouldn't be a problem but yea assuming u did machine the disc properly.. i wouldn't worry about it... i can sort of imagine a thick flywheel related to the shudder, but i can't explain it without making a fool of myself (involves metal absorbing vibration from the clutch plate... the thicker the fly, the less is absorbed and more felt as feedback.. yeh sounds stupid i know)

wow.. sounds interesting.. good luck with it.. any way i can keep up with the progress? ehehhe

the flywheel was lightened and machined by a w-shop. i did do some major ghetto bodgies to get it all into the c52 though...
as i'v said above, apart from the shudder (which is noticable, but not really bad.) (hopefuly it stays that way). it has worked well so far this w-end getting dumped, dropped and slipped.
