    Default ma70 digi dash problems

can anyone help please? .. The temp gauge appearsd to work correctly, then later that day it would only register 1 bar instead of about 5 or watever. The car hasnt been run for 18 months. Whic coolant sensor is for the dash gauge and can i replace a sensor that may not be needed for an after market one for an after market gauge?

Also the factory boost gauge doesnt work. where does it connect on the engine?

    All help much appreciated guys

factory boost guage is on the passenger side strut tower, just behind where the strut top is.

the factory water temp sender is on the front of the motor, on the thermostat housing (where the top water hose connects to the radiator).

on the housing, theres the water feed for the turbos, and (from memory) two other sensors, ones for water temp, the other (i think) for the thermo fans (air con and the fan in front of the rad).

water temp is the one that AFAIK has the green/yellow(edit: Yellow Green) wire coming out of it. (will verify the colour for you in a sec...)

    Elmo.

edit: apologies for the brain fart the water temp sensor will have a yellow wire with a green stripe going to it. so yellow/green.

thanks mate, if i take it out and replace with one for a new gauge wil it have an effect on the ecu, or does the ecu go off another sensor altogether

Changing the sender with the Yellow-Green wire will not affect the ecu. The ecu uses another temperature sender in the same area, and it has two wires - one Brown and one Green.
