88210 intake manifold is the really long one, which uses a piece of pipe and rubber hose joins as the balance chamber.

I used the 88250 intake manifold on my old RA28 in the past, with low profile K&N filters (the 25mm thick ones), and it fit - but it was close.
I then went EFI and never looked back.
    ...... butt scratcher?!

Although the ramflos in mine did disintegrate, if I had regularly checked and re-oiled them, I would not have had any dramas. The filter elements themselves are in the vicinity of $10 each.

hey guys - I am about to do the 22R ignition upgrade on my 18RG.

Picked up the complete dizzy/ignitor/coil from a 22RE.

Just confused with the wiring diagrams in the guide thread. My ignitor has a pink, yellow and black wire coming out to a plug and also a white and pink to the dizzy. All the diagrams i find dont match these colours. I figure that possibly the correct colours are on the other side of the plug which is unfortunately wiring that i do not have. Can anyone point me where i might be able to figure this out or tell me where those colours go on their conversions?

    cheers

Pic quality is shocking i know - I broke my camera a few days ago.

the ignitor has 2 wires running to the dissy - white and pink
and two to a plug - pink, yellow and black

    plug looks like this

I assume they will be earth, power and a trigger for the coil? just not sure which is which and cannot find a wiring diagram with those three colours.

These usually earth through the bracket mate.

It seems to be quite similar to the 18RG one in terms of wiring colours

In which case, black is Coil negative, yellow is tacho, pink (which I could possibly have mistaken for Light brown) is ignition.

In the 18RG one, the circuit board inside the ignitor had the pins labelled, maybe open it up and have a look if you want to be sure.

Is there a another connector from the ignitor which the coil connects to?

The two wires going to the dizzy you don't really have to mess with, just keep them as they are. (They shouldn't connect to anything else)

only the 5 wires i described come out of the ignitor. Will open the box up today and see what i can find.

nothing labeled in there. Will try and find a standard 22re and have a rummage through the engine bay.

Oil pumps again boys & girls
It is as I thought. There is another ToJo pump with the same gears as the 18RG. I have one, trouble is I dont know what engine it is out of.
We were at a clearing sale & my mate Ken bought a $2 box & in it was a Toyota oil pump of unknown origin which he did'nt want & gave to me. I thought it would be good to look inside it & lo & behold it has 30 mm gears the same as an RG. I put the outer rotor into an 18 rc pump & it spun with the inner driving it just like a bought one.
This would alow you to easily replicate an RG pump with one of these, an RC pump & make a spacer the same as an RG. Too easy. No lathe work.
I just wish that I could identify the pump. If there is one there must be more with the same guts.
It is gear driven off the cam, has an aluminium cast pick up with a four bolt attatchment to pump & the oil out has a screw in connection for a pipe to the block.
Maybe an old cruiser six cylnder.

    Hi buddy,
Would bet my left nut it is from a 4m. Ive got a manual here that shows it to be the same gear pattern and works in the same way as the 18r but could never get my hands on one to confirm. If i can find the book i'll let you know, but i havent seen it in years.

So after a bit of internet sleuthing if it is a M series pump the ones to find are the pumps from M or early 2M motor. The trochoid pump (one we are after) is only on the M and early 2M motor and changed to gear type on later 2M and all 4M models.

Wallaby ferked, if'n bEn is not correct in identifying it as an early 4 M pump 65 - 73.
I found an online manual that showed the exact same pump.
Pity its so early as that means that it won't be common any more.

    Hi,

sweet, saved that one again Mate if you look you can find 4m's in crowns and mark II's. There's a wreckers i know of that loves having old cars. In fact, if it was made later than 1990, they probably don't have it....... Probs going to go check them out again on the weekend. Will see what i can find.

Thats all good and well but the pumps we need i believe are 1M and 2M pumps or 3m (2000gt motor) all from mid 60s to early seventies and extremely hard to get parts for

in all honesty i think you will have a better chance finding a true TRD 18rg oil pump before you find a good condition early M pump thats useable
