Colortune is a crazy sparkplug that has a clear ring around the centre so you can see the colour of the combustion. Yellow rich, blue good, light blue lean. Ridiculously easy. Unlike the filler plug on my w50 which refuses to budge. just about removed the whole ficken head of the plug so far.

Yeah basically a spark plug with a window.

Ignition is next on my list. I am a student so scraping enough together to rebuild the RG was hard enough.

What else will i need besides an electronic distributor?

You will need the ignition module that sits on the coil, if you get the right one it is plug and play. There are plenty of after market ones available, some through Toyohead or Toysport in the US which includes the dizzy conversion.

Hello, im replacing the 18r-c engine with an 18r-g engine.

    I got a few questions.

Does the starter motor, flywheel, exhaust manifold and engine mountings from the 18r-c fit the 18r-g?

also does the gearbox bolt onto the 18r-g?

    Thanks

Starter, flywheel and engine mounts can be used.

    Exhaust manifold is different.

Gearbox/bell housing will bolt straight on.

You will have to run the temperature sender wire around the engine bay to its new position on the 18RG thermostat block.

You will also need to do something for a throttle cable/linkage. I recommend the ones you can buy from Rodger on http://www.rmcarburetors.net/

Yes, as long as the original gearbox is a W5x series gearbox. Should bolt straight up.

If you're not desperate for it tomorrow just get on ebay, amazon or google it. They're pretty readily available online and some times cheapervfrom overseas.
